VINTAGE CORN STICK verses MODERN CONVECTION

I put some of my Antiques to use on a daily basis. Vintage Cast Iron Cookware might as well not be considered Antique.  At least as far as I am concerned.  I use mine often.

Las Vegas in the middle of summer is easily hitting 110°F daytime temperatures.  For some that is not conducive for enjoying a hot bowl of Chili.

Many reserve that cuisine for chilling winter days.

Not me.  I enjoy Chili year round.  Additionally Chili isn’t at it’s best, unless you have cornbread as a side to accompany it.

On a hot day outside I often drag out the crock-pot to make a batch of chili to avoid heating up the kitchen.  While I am a cast iron connoisseur, I am certainly not firing up some charcoal and Dutch Oven cooking when it is a scorching +110°F outside either.  Thinking about getting the kitchen oven up to 425°F for a batch of cornbread, doesn’t sound too appealing either.  That heats the whole house up.

This is where vintage Cast Iron meets the modern Counter-top Convection Oven.  The combination works well together and doesn’t kick my air conditioner on more than normal.

Now I am sitting back enjoying a bowl of Chili.  Dipping my hot buttered corn sticks in some maple syrup.  What a killer combination.  Both in the cooking technique, as well as the food paring.

JADE HORSE

In this business a special buy comes along every so often.  This is one such instance.  One of those buys that makes you have to run to the bank to get more cash.  With hopes it won’t be sold out from under you, while you are gone.

This is a stunning, quite large stone carving.  It is raised on a custom wooden base made just for this carving.

This is a large Jade carved Horse.  The stone horse by itself (Not including the wood stand) weighs 89lbs.  This is all one piece but shows striations between some of the colors.

This was tested extensively at many locations on the horse.  Using an electronic Presidium Gem Tester, this statue was tested at all the different color ranges.  Testing Jade, in various ranges of Nephrite Jade, Spinach Jade, and Jadeite.

Dimensions from tail to nose is approximately: 23.5 inches

Dimensions at the largest width is: 6.5 inches

Dimensions from the stone base to the tip of the ears is: 15 inches

The history from the seller on this carved Jade was it was purchased 38 years ago.

The current retail value of this ranges between $4000 and $5000.  In the right retail setting, perhaps more?

Interested Buyers can contact Marilyn at 702-378-6052.  But we aren’t even sure we can part with it?  It might depend on any offer.

This is local inspection and pick-up only.  We will not ship.

AMETHYST DIAMOND CUT PENDANT

This is a beautiful rare find.  This multi faceted cut Amethyst stone set in 925 Silver.  The Stone has been verified tested using an electronic Presidium gem tester.  The Silver setting is stamped 925

Approximately 25mm X 28mm (1 x 1 1/16 inches) across the face. Approximately 20mm  (3/4 inch) “Depth” (Top “table” of the “crown”, to “cutlet” the bottom point.

The 925 Silver setting band is about 20mm (3/4 inch) high, or wide, including the decorative chain filigree that surrounds the base.

It is believed this is Rose de France amethyst or a piece similar.  For now this piece is being left as is with its old patina.  It is not being cleaned.  While the stone is not in mint condition under a X10 loop, to the naked eye, this is stunning.
